Delivering Change Conversations

In this podcast, Delivering Change participants share their experiences, learnings, and challenges as they take transformative action to support all people to access culture.

In each episode speakers discuss the questions and reflections that have grown out of the programme, offering their insights into the anti-oppressive actions that museums, galleries, and supporting organisations can take.

Introduction

Delivering Change is a collective effort between Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS) and partnering museums, galleries, and community groups to restructure as organisations based on anti-oppressive principles.

Delivering Change has been developed by Museums Galleries Scotland and an Expert Advisory Group. It is funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, thanks to National Lottery players, Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, and the Scottish Government.

You can find out more about some of our team’s intentions behind Delivering Change, and the uniqueness of MGS’ position to deliver it to the Scottish museum sector, in our blog: Delivering Change Conversations: Getting Started. Our second blog in this series, Delivering Change Conversations: Challenges, learnings and leadership explores our team’s experience on a more practical level, particularly in terms of the barriers to change we have witnessed and how these are helping to refocus and shape the second half of the programme.

Episode 1: The power dynamics of grants

Sheila, Ellie, and Kate from Museums Galleries Scotland discuss the power dynamics tied up in grant giving, how changes were made for Delivering Change, and what grant giving organisations can do to better support co-production between communities and the heritage sector.
